Dear Parent,
Is your child talented in art, dance, drama, or music? If so, The
Center Of The Arts is the perfect place for your child. In 1984, Lilia
Garcia, now District Director for the Division of Life Skills and
Magnet Innovative Programs for Dade County Public Schools, envisioned
a program that would fulfill the needs of creative children. Her commitment
to these students led her to pilot the program at Norland Middle School,
The Center Of The Arts. The Talented Magnet program offers a great
educational opportunity by providing plenty of hands on experience
and a progressive arts curriculum in addition to the traditional classroom
instruction. Our teachers consist entirely of practicing professionals
